Printable games and charts for 1:1 and small group. Quick to set up, easy to come back to.

Sentence Builders takes the blank line away. Instead of staring at an empty page, your student builds a sentence one card at a time from seven color-coded piles: nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, where phrases, when phrases, and articles.
Start with a noun and a verb. Add one card, then read the whole sentence out loud. Add another, read it again. Your student hears exactly what each new card adds. They finish by choosing "a" or "an" and checking the sentence with CAMPS. Every combination makes a grammatical sentence, so there is no wrong draw.
Three ways to play keep it fresh: flip the top card of each pile, choose from cards laid face up, or roll a die to decide how far down to count.
Builds: complete sentences, expanding with describing words, choosing a or an, moving sentence parts around, capitals and end punctuation.
Good to know: start with just two piles and add more as your student is ready. Print on cardstock and laminate if you can.

Players take turns stealing words from a shared sentence, called the vault, and swapping in one of their own. Then the other player reads the whole sentence out loud and decides: does the new word still do the job?
If it doesn’t, the thief takes it back. If it does, the steal stays. To judge a steal, your student has to think about what each word is doing in the sentence. The ear learns first. The name comes next.
Builds: nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs by the job they do, reading aloud to check a sentence, explaining why a word fits, and vocabulary.
Good to know: a round takes about 10 to 15 minutes. Works 1:1 with you as the other player, or with two students.

Two games for complete sentences, capitals, and end punctuation, from two different directions.
In Roll & Write, your student rolls a die for each column, builds a sentence from the words, reads it out loud, and checks it with the CAMPS checklist. Every combination on the boards makes a correct sentence. In Fix-It Tic-Tac-Toe, every square hides one error, like a missing capital or the wrong end mark. Find it and fix it to claim the square. Three in a row wins.
Builds: complete sentences, capitals, choosing a period or a question mark, reading aloud to check, and moving the "when" part of a sentence to the front with its comma.
Good to know: each game takes about 10 to 15 minutes. All you need is the printout, a die, and a pencil.

A matching set of 17 charts, each focused on one writing or grammar idea. Every chart has a short definition, a visual, examples, and a Watch Out box for the most common mistakes. Sentence structure charts show the patterns as building blocks, so students can see how a sentence fits together.
Each chart is labeled with the Structured Steps to Writing unit it supports, so they slot right in alongside the program. They work just as well on their own.
Good to know: print as 18 x 24 inch posters or on letter-size paper. Both sizes are in the same file.

"Wait... what’s an adjective again?" These four charts are for the student who needs a quick reminder right in the middle of a sentence.
Each one has a short definition, a picture for every category, and example words students can borrow. It’s a free sample of the full 17-chart set.
Good to know: print as 18 x 24 inch posters, or letter size for binders and folders.
Structured Steps to Writing teaches each skill explicitly, one step at a time, in 15-minute scripted lessons.
